My name is Josephine Bibby and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor.
It can seem overwhelming to take the step to begin therapy, but I see it as just starting a conversation. Through a safe, empathetic therapeutic relationship, I help people gain perspective on their life experiences and patterns of behavior. Therapy can help you to have a better relationship with yourself, as well as with others.
While we may focus on what could be going better in your life, it is in times of struggle that many find their unique strengths. My clients tend to gain appreciation for their own strengths and take more active roles in improving their own lives.
I was born and raised in Dallas, although Austin has been home base for many years. I attended Brandeis University, where I studied painting and women’s & gender studies, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Stephen F. Austin State University in 2010. I worked in higher education administration for several years before completing my graduate degree in Counseling at SMU in 2019.
I love to spend time with family and friends. I enjoy reading, making art, and being outdoors. I have a dog and a cat for whom I am grateful every day.
